We are currently accepting students 13 years old and older and of all athletic levels for our BJJ program. You do not have to already be in shape or be in your teens to start the journey.
A typical BJJ class is composed of the following:
Warm-ups
Falling practice (ukemi)
Drills
Instruction
Sparring (randori)
The objective of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes is to develop a solid foundation in grappling. The emphasis is placed on ground fighting techniques (Ne Waza) however throwing techniques (Nage Waza) and takedown techniques are also taught. Students begin with simple, basic techniques and build upon the skills they've learned as more advanced techniques are introduced. The focus is long-term development.
